Research title: Tackling Complex Transport Systems via Lightweight Ontologies

Research summary

Research interests

  • Ontology, knowledge representation, semantic web
  • Domain-specific languages
  • Lisp, especially Scheme and functional programming
  • Computational social science, networks

My project is about designing knowledge representation systems which are applicable in the area of modelling and simulation, as current systems like RDF poorly capture state and change over time. I’m particularly interested in Lisp (especially Scheme) for developing domain-specific languages in this area.

I'm also interested in data provenance and reproducibility, and identifying abstractions which might let us collect information to reproduce e.g. statistical pipelines, analytical tooling. There is a lot of work in this area around the semantic web, to which I'd like to contribute.
