Health Inequalities
Our Health Inequalities research is focused on the persistent and unfair gaps in health and wellbeing between different groups in society, how to identify their causes and how to reduce them.
Our Ambition
We want to understand what causes health inequalities and how we can tackle them, together. We aim to be an internationally recognised centre, working across multiple disciplines to push inequalities research beyond description and into successful action.

Our Strengths
Understanding inequality in research
Our research has real breadth in terms of both the range of population groups and the health outcomes and diseases we work on.
Conducting research to meet global need
Our research spans scales from local, through national to global. We track, understand and seek solutions for, inequalities at each scale but also focus on the connections between them.
Multi-disciplinary research in health inequality
We are home to a concentration of the world's best multi-disciplinary researchers in the field of health inequality Our work blends biomedical, clinical and social science in a way which many other Universities do not.
Modelling and developing interventions
We conduct effective modelling and simulation to understand mechanisms, test theories and solutions, and communicate implications.
Our Impact
Health Inequalities research in the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences is tackling key global issues facing our planet. Learn more about our journey.
