Sir James McCune Smith Learning Hub, University of Glasgow, University Avenue, Glasgow G12 8QW
The Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow is delighted to host its annual Economics Outreach Day on Tuesday 2 June 2026.
This year’s event is particularly special as it marks the 250th anniversary of the publication of The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith—one of the most influential works in economics. As the home of Adam Smith, the University of Glasgow is at the centre of global celebrations reflecting on the continuing relevance of his ideas in understanding the modern economy. About the Event
This free event is designed to inform, inspire and engage school pupils, particularly those who may not have the opportunity to study Economics at school.
Economics connects to many subjects—including Modern Studies, Geography, Mathematics, Sociology and Psychology—and helps us understand real-world issues such as inequality, public policy, and global change.
The day will provide an opportunity for pupils to:
- Experience what studying Economics at university is like
- Learn from professional economists and academic staff
- Explore how Economics links to future study and career pathways
- Visit the University of Glasgow campus
