Get Your Bike Marked for Free

Keep your bike safe on campus by taking advantage of the free bike‑marking service offered by the Campus Security team, in partnership with BikeRegister, the UK’s national bicycle identification database. Registering your bike makes it far less appealing to thieves, helps police recover it if it’s stolen, and provides clear proof of ownership. It also allows anyone buying a second‑hand bike to check its frame number against the BikeRegister database to ensure it hasn’t been reported stolen.

This service is free for all students. To register your interest, email security-main-campus@gla.systa-s.com and the team will share details of the next Bike Marking event.

Students are also encouraged to make use of the secure bike‑parking options available across Gilmorehill and other University sites. The University has installed nine free bike hangars—secure, lockable parking facilities available to all students. Please register for access.
